The Beta 2 Glycoprotein test is an ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) test that determines the IgG antibodies against the beta-2-glycoprotein present in the serum and plasma. Beta 2 Glycoprotein – IgG test is used for the diagnosis of APS in patients. APS (Antiphospholipid syndrome) is a condition in which antibodies attack own tissue and result in unexplained blood clots in a vein or artery (thrombotic episode or venous thromboembolism) and the cause of continual miscarriages in women.
